Kansas insurance regulators will hold a public meeting in Kansas City, Kan., next month to answer questions surrounding health care reform.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Donnelly College Events Center, 608 N. 18th St.
It is part of a series of meetings scheduled around the state this month and next month to address the Affordable Care Act. Linda Sheppard, the Kansas Insurance Department?s health policy director and special counsel, will provide an overview of the law and explain how the new online insurance marketplaces will operate when consumers are signing up for their coverage.
The Donnelly College event is in addition to a health care meeting previously announced for Sept. 17 at the University of Kansas Edwards Campus. That program starts at 7 p.m. in the Best Conference Center, 12604 Quivira Road.
In addition, the department has launched a website ? InsureKS.org ? that offers educational information about health care coverage. The website includes links to InsureKS.org on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
