They say falling in love is a gift and a challenge; but I believe that the challenging part comes in staying in love. Many people today fall in love easily as they similarly fall out of it in a heartbeat. A few not-so-nice attitudes discovered by the other partner and poof, they find themselves heading toward the door.

This is very common among romantic relationships. Well, as they say, it is the trial-and-error phase of finding the perfect partner to spend your entire life with. But what if this challenge of staying in love and in the relationship transpires when you?ve already committed to being with that person forever?

It?s not always possible to prevent a divorce; there are many reasons people opt for a divorce. While most of them look for these reasons to simply support the petition to get a divorce, some truthfully experience these reasons that made them finally say, ?Enough!?

Here are 5 of the most common reasons married couples seek to call their marriage quits:

The All-Talk-And-No-Listen Problem

The problem on communication is always a part of being in a relationship since each one of us is unique in our own way. We have distinctive ways of interpreting things and expressing issues to our partners which more often than not, causes problems in the relationship. As a matter of fact, this problem may even be present before marriage. As matters and issues evolve as couples get married, so too this specific problem on communication. The wife who once was a silent girlfriend may turn out to be a nagger; or the husband who once was very thoughtful every time may focus more on the money-making aspect of their life as married couple and forget being thoughtful. When couples fail to find ways to resolve this issue, they could most likely put their marriage in jeopardy.

Money Matters Matter!

When we were much younger, we only have ourselves to worry about. We budget our finances according to what fits our lifestyle. When we involve ourselves in a serious relationship, we learn to share what we have with our partners ? including money. However, money-related issues become more serious when we are married. We no longer argue on the needs-versus-wants issue but we focus more on providing funds for the entire family?s need. Even though money issues are not primarily? the reasons married couples split up, researches show that money-related problems contribute to divorce among married couples.

?When Abuse Takes Center Stage

Abuse in all forms is serious marital issues that could result to divorce. While physical abuse gets most of the society?s attention and action, there are still other kinds that go unnoticed and tend to escape the public?s criticism but never the recipient?s.

The common types of abuse that are usually overlooked are: emotional abuse, where one partner takes advantage of the emotional weakness of the other; or verbal abuse, where one manipulative partner uses words to emotionally hurt the other partner. All these abuses are mostly bearable at first; couples experiencing these types of abuses typically get over the issue and move on. However, when the abuse becomes too much, the affected partner surprisingly gets the feeling of being fed up and just leaves the relationship and settles it with a divorce.

Substance abuse is yet another threatening problem for a married couple. When alcohol or drug addiction sets in, everything else simply falls apart; and if the couple is not founded on sturdy groundwork, they could most likely turn to divorce to settle the problem.

Cheating Partners

The commandment when it comes to marriage is monogamy. Unless of course for some societies and religions such as Islam where the husband can have more than one wife. But in most societies, marriage is a private arrangement between two people. If this law on marriage is not upheld, one can file for divorce.

Sexual Differences

Sex has been added on Maslow?s hierarchy of need, making it one of the basic human needs that have to be fulfilled. Couples are expected to do the act and enjoy it exclusively with each other, unless of course both partners get the permission to perform it with other people. When sexual problems and differences arise and are not resolved, it could be a ground for divorce too.
